audio frequency spectrum analyzer from LED tv screen

Postby eramsell » September 5th, 2014, 4:41 pm

I am exploring the possibility of using a non-CRT tv screen to build an audio spectrum analyzer. It does not need to be fancy, I want to use it for finding those pesky audio frequencies that muddy up faint audio signals while listening to shortwave radio and attenuating them. I already have the design for the attenuator.

Does anybody have any idea how to do this?

I am not looking at a software operated device, just hardware.

All I really need to know is what circuits to remove from the tv (I am sure video would be one of them), and a block diagram of those basic circuits needed to make this work. Or maybe it would be easier to start with just the screen?
