The best microwave

Postby PhantomPigman » April 1st, 2014, 5:06 am

Anyone think this is a good idea?
A microwave which weighs the food,
Then does a 3d scan on the food,
Then with that data calculates the average density of the food.
You then should be able to enter the temperature you want the food to be and then have it calculate the exact time it needs to reach that temperature, then it cooks it.

There haven't really been very many innovations in the field of cooking lately, cooking and eating is one of the most important things in life!

Is that really all the information you would need (not to mention the complexity of gaining that info)? Wouldn't it be simpler to use thermometers (possibly even non-contact)?

I would think the moisture content of the food would make the biggest difference in how long it takes to heat in a microwave. If you want to make an innovation in microwave technology, figure out why it heats the outside to blistering hot while leaving the center frozen.

Of course, the solution is just to buy an old one because I don't remember ever having that problem until the last decade or so.
