Holden / Chevy MyLink hacks?

Postby Grayda » January 27th, 2014, 12:15 am

I'm in the market for a new car, and the Chevy / Holden Malibu with MyLink is looking interesting. For those not in the know, MyLink is an in-car system that does your radio, reverse camera, bluetooth and such. What makes it interesting, is apps. You can download one of the compatible apps to your device (in Australia, there's 2: Pandora and Stitcher) and control it's functions from the touch screen in your car.

Of course this isn't going to be good enough, so I'm wondering, can these things be hacked to add something like phone mirroring? I'd love to use Google Maps with this thing, but it looks like you can't.

Some are saying it's a QNX based device, but I can't find out much more other than that, given that it's a rather new technology (2012 cars and onwards, I think?)

Any suggestions / clues / ideas for this?
