I've had an idea for 'overclocking' something that really doesn't need overclocking; a xmas tie. I've got a 10W 8Ohm speaker from an old TV that is about the right size to fit behind (maybe inside?) and the original musical bit. I don't have a scope, but is is safe to guess that the output is probably a square wave at about 3V (2x1.5V batteries power it)? If I just attach this to the gate of a mosfet with a gate threashold below 3V and use that to switch a 9V battery through the speaker I should get a nice loud, awfully distorted tinny output shouldn't I? How much current can I expect from a 9V battery; will I need several in parallel for maximum volume?
