Reusing Wan-Radio boards from Laptops

I'm sure it's a newb question. I tried googling it for about 30 minutes with no dice.

I was toying with some broken laptops. Mostly sacrificing them to the gods of the parts bin. I pulled out a little broadcom WAN card. It seems like it has a pretty easy physical interface. The model number is BCM94322HM8L.

Does anyone have any experience (or links) reusing these for projects. Maybe on the low-end connecting to a wifi router to toggle some pins?

dont know about laptops but i seriously doubt its as easy as buying a cheap one to use that already has a usb interface OTOH though i've seen a few android tablets that use a USB interface for the wifi.
