Decoding parking ticket data from magstripe

Postby kryptek » January 22nd, 2018, 2:34 pm

Hey all,

I've recently purchased a Magstripe reader/writer (MSR605x). I've done research on Magstripe formats and now I'm trying to read in some parking tickets from my local garage and the only way I'm able to read data from the ticket is if I read in the raw data.

When I scan the stripe I'm getting back 34 bytes of data. I have no idea how this is encoded but my end goal is to be able to validate my own parking. Is there anyone who has experience with this sort of thing that can point me in the right direction?

Example raw data:
