Bluetooth Teensy like board?

Postby BlueCoder » December 25th, 2012, 1:57 am

Are there any dev boards like the Teensy but for Bluetooth?

The Teensy is a perticularly useful board for converting old keybaords, joysticks, and gamepads into USB. For example converting an old IBM M series keyboard.

I'm wondering if there is any generic dev platforms for Bluetooth? There are a number of devices I wouldn't mind converting to Bluetooth. Would be nice if it could support any type of Bluetooth device. Not a generic serial port.

I haven't seen anything yet, but in the meantime you could uses a Bluetooth module. For example, as described here: ... odule.html

The AIRcable SMD comes to mind, it's a fully programmable microcontroller and Bluetooth module on one board. But you have to program it in BASIC, so be warned.

Like already said, pairing a MCU up to a standard Bluetooth module would probably work just as well, but then you might have issues with which Bluetooth services are supported.
